Travel is not only fun, but has been a way of life for the Schraders; at least for Hank.
Growing up in a career military family and personally retiring from the United States Army, Hank thought that entering the travel business seemed like the most logical next career choice. However, he took a twenty year detour to become a teacher and football coach. That employment period proved to only enhance the travel business that he and Anne started in 1995; as he spent 8 of those years teaching World Geography. So, not only has he had the opportunity to learn and teach in-depth facts about foreign locations, he has had ample opportunities to experience many places first hand.
Anne was new to foreign travel until the '80s. However, like a duck to water, the excitement of visiting new places, learning new cuisines and customs has only magnified her desire to see more of the world. The only drawback she has found is deciding whether to make the next visit to someplace new or return to a favorite location. And, as each new location visited becomes the next spot on the "favorite places" list, the selection gets more difficult! Visiting Europe three times in one year was a highlight. Although the weather wasn't always cooperative in March, the opportunities to make new friends, experience places formerly only seen in the media made the blustery cold of Italy, Slovenia, Croatia and Ireland inconsequential! And, that pretty much is how she looked at the record heat waves in France, England, Germany, Italy and Turkey during other trips.
So why should you care about our information?
We are constantly working to explore new locations and reasons to visit them, besides the obvious historical, romantic or artistic value. (I know, it is truly a hardship traveling to dream destinations, but we'll take one for the team!) We search out great markets; fabulous, quaint restaurants; local shopping venues; better ways to avoid crowds; and great places to people watch. We want to provide our clients with information that has a more personal touch, rather than just sending you to a location with a guide book and saying "have fun".
