European River Cruise Ports

We have just added a new section to our website and it has great value for you in your search for accurate and useful travel information.  It is called European River Cruise Ports and provides you an easy way to get specific information about the many ports you can see while on a river cruise in Europe.

So, why should trust us to provide you a guide about European River Cruise Ports?

We have been on 18 European River Cruises; between the both of us we have been traveling to Europe for 48 years; and we both have been in the travel industry for 23+ years of experience and helped dozens of satisfied clients, so we do have some very good credentials to let you know what you will see in a specific port.

As you can imagine, this is a huge undertaking, so we are rolling it out first on the two most popular routes, the Upper Danube and the Rhine River routes.

Are your ready to learn more?—okay, let’s go!

Overview

The pages are simple to use.  Go to our website at www.dreamdestinations.com and click on the menu box (3 horizontal lines at the top right corner of any page on the website) and when the drop down menu appears, select River Cruises.  When the new drop down menu appears, there will be several topics.  The key topics to find out about a specific port are in the Rhine River Cruises page, and the Danube River Cruise page.  Just scroll down to the bottom of the page (you might want to browse a little on the great content about these wonderful cruise routes first) and there are some short intro instructions and explanations about how to get the guide you desire.  Right after the introduction, there is a heading with the text “Get My Port Guide.”  After you click on the box, there is short section to fill out.  In the first box type your first name and last name.  In the next box, type your email address.  In the next box section, click on the small circle to select the guide(s) that you want.  It is a really simple process!

Once the request is submitted (we get an email), we send you a guide word document in PDF form and a slide show PDF of the key sights.  How cool is that!

So, let’s examine the 2 cruise route guides available now!

The Upper Danube Port Guides

Melk Abbey

Currently there are 7 route guides available for the Upper Danube.

We have guides for the following ports:  Bratislava, Budapest. Melk, Passau, Regensburg, Salzburg and Vienna.

Sailing into Passau—you will get this picture and 12 others in our Passau guide

Sailing into Passau—you will get this picture and 12 others in our Passau guide

You can expect to receive 2 documents per port.  Both are electronic documents.

The first is a printable word document that lists the key things to do and see while in port.  The second is a PDF slide show with our pictures, so you can not only recognize the site when off your rivership but also prior to going on the included tour from the river cruise line you are sailing with, you can determine if this tour appeals to you.

There is nothing like this in-depth resource available for free that we are aware of at present in our industry.

Why are these guides valuable?

The answer to this one is easy—a well-informed traveler is a better traveler. Just for us to be able to provide you such a valuable resource, based on sailing on 18 times on Europe River Cruises and our in-depth knowledge of the river cruise industry, is exceptional to say the least!.

From my travels now going on over 48+ years as both a curious traveler and now a certified travel agent, this is another resource to get a wealth of knowledge.  Seldom will you find travel advisors like us who have written guides to 50 European Cities (we have personally visited 43 of these cities) and now to river cruise ports.

Other guides are in the draft form for Lower Danube, the 2 key tributaries of the Rhine (the Mosel and Main Rivers) and for the 3 rivers in France (the Rhone, Seine and Bordeaux area rivers).

Give or take a little, we will add about 6-7 cruise ports to each river—you can expect about 50 ultimately on our website.
