The 70th Anniversary of D Day in Pictures

75 years ago today, the Allies invaded France in the Normandy region to start the defeat of Germany.  We will be lucky to be in Ste. Mere Egilse, the first village liberated by the Allies in France.

I could tell about the massive effort to assemble and train the invading force, the detailed planning and super human effort of the soldiers involved, but perhaps we should see the results of their sweat, blood, sacrifice and how the village looks today by seeing what the 70th Anniversary of D Day looked like in pictures 5 years ago.

Their deeds on that day allowed a small village to be reborn.

Let’s take a journey through our pictures of 5 years past to see a festival that no one will forget!
